Axl Rose took fifteen years to finish his new album. It would have taken longer, had I not called him and given him a list of clear reasons why the album had to come out this year. My friend Richard Barham made an animated video of our interaction that visually detailed the urgency of the album's release. So just remember, when you're listening to "Chinese Democracy", all it took was a post-punk laptop rapper with Axl Rose's home phone number to serve as a catalyst for the release of the most anticipated album of the last two decades. This song is from the "Green Christmas EP", available 11/25/08. You can download it here.

This month's video podcast is a trip into the world of a self-consciously hip young girl from Brooklyn. She knows that Donnie Darko is a movie with obscure meaning and that the changing fashions wreak havoc to her trust fund, but she's happy in her ironic and smug postmodern self-awareness. "What's with all of these hipsters moving to Williamsburg?" You tell us hipster girl. Directed by Michael Licisyn and produced by Tommy Avallone. You can watch it here.
